Fancy free

Colossians 2:8

Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.

Fancy-free

Here we go at three in the morning

Sleep departed a few hours ago

What’s wrong with my time-clock

in outer-space like a worn out sock

Is it me? Really I know the better

Many thoughts float in and out

Mostly failure that keeps on reminding

That the past is here unwinding

How to expect freedom of ideas

To flow freely between king and pauper

Where did we ever get the “believe”

That in the church we’re really free

Stacked upon us their hierarchies

Is it the only way we can organize?

We have not come, no not too far

From the outer court's business cart

Will we change, I guess we do not

We're too religious to search for truth?

One day up and another deep down

Our feelings always bare and shown

People come and people go

Where is this all winding up?

Maybe all in all where it should be

Indifferent and careless now fancy-free
