Fast

Fast

My heart was beating so fast. Lightning and air pumped through my veins.

Stiffening my fingers, taking my breath away.

Mind clear as an Iceland spar,

Eyes glued to the text two inches from my face.

“Can I kiss them?” it said,

“Can I kiss you?” I read.

“I want to kiss you”, my heart echoed through my hollow chest.

“Yes” my lips whispered.

“Yes”, I replied,

Yes.

For there was no reason to say no,

No reason to not trust my yes.

Is it the trust that said yes? Or was it the desire?

Hands trembling.

Shaking?

Are my hands shaking because I’m excited?

Excited for what?

To imagine someone else with him?

Shaking?

From lust or potential rejection?

Oops.
