filament

perpetually tempted to

pluck out the sole

precocious beard hair.

unruly, intertwined

upwardly in

overgrown opposition.

ritually, I tug

and tamper with it,

trying to discover where,

underneath a brush

of undergrowth,

its follicle resides.

you ignore me

patiently as I test you.

how many micro-newtons

must I apply, softly,

before I elicit your energy?

your electricity

is flowing most potently

throught me, through youu,

peaking at the precipice

of the singular strand

that is my infatuation.

our current makes it

spiral into a filament

that fills the space within our bulb,

completing the circuit

that once created us.
