Finally, Finally

It started with a man and a dream
He held his dream high in his right hand, for the world to see
It screamed, it yelled, it burst into motion
Its message was “Set me free”

There was no room in society for his dream

Time was too impatient, too insensitive to think

That for a second a people such as this

Could be set free

After thousands of fights,

Thousands of tears, thousands of bruises

Deaths, lost heartbeats,

Finally, finally something had set them free

It started with a man and a dream

That dream high in his right hand became a reality

It cheered, it leaped, it danced to the newfound heartbeats

Finally, finally, it was set free

Thanks to a man and his dream
I am able to dream
I am able to sing
I am set free
