Like a Firefly in a Mason Jar

Location

Henniker
United States

You rip the words right out of my mouth.

Like a firefly in a mason jar,

trying to get out.

So don't trap me

for then I shall sink away,

into a deep abyss.

Will I come back another day?

Then what will I say?

I marched to the beat of my own drum.

Then everyone thought I was dumb.

So I can't be original?

Thats what they tell me to do,

I don't get it.

Am I supposed to not do what I love.

"Do this!"

"Do that!"

Like a firefly in a mason jar,

I try to keep my words inside my mouth.
