First Ballad

Do you hear that?

The symphony of crackles?

Do you hear that?

The diabolical cackles?

Do you see the smoke?

Rising really high?

The sounds of chokes,

Sounding in the sky,

Do you see the burning flames,

Consuming all life?

Do you see the engraved names,

From those who fought and strived?

Do you hear the sound of gunfire?

Shattering screams sounding?

From those in the warring choir,

Ripples from bombs, echos pounding.

Embers showering,

Black dust swirling,

Can't you see the chaos, that we're empowering?

Bullets continue twirling.

Green grasses stained with red,

Families grieved,

Cried for the dead,

After letters were received.

'We know the pain,

That a military family is feeling,

His death be not in vain,'

Their pain filled eyes reached the ceiling.
