This Flame Won't Go Out

I don’t know what my future holds,

Or what will happen when it unfolds.

I don’t know what tomorrow brings,

Or what will happen unless I try to take a swing.

I don’t know what day will be my last,

But I do know that time moves fast.

I know that some things are once in a lifetime,

And that I can’t see the top unless I make the climb.

Even if I stumble,

Even if I start to crumble.

I know that tomorrow is another chance,

I know that I can take it and start my dance.

I was a match,

And I was looking for my flame.

I was looking for my catch,

And I took my arrow and took my aim.

Everyone has a story to tell,

Even if we don’t feel like we do.

There are moments in life that we need to compel,

And things that we all have to go through.

But that doesn’t mean that we should give up.

We just have to do our best to keep standing up.

I am burning bright,

And I will not give up this fight.
