Footsteps

As a baby,

 you crawled.

  a toddler,

   taking uncertain steps.

     a child,

       you ran everywhere.

         a teen,

rushing around as if there's no morrow.

            an adult,

you walked or drove the car.

as a person in their twilight years,

                 you moved stooped and bent.

                   in each stage;

                    the footsteps

                     of life,

                      have a place to go,

                       'tis only the way

                        you get there

                         that shows the age,

                           you've attained

                             or achieved......
