Forgotten and Clairvoyent

Castaways docked on open land
For foreign seas had betrayed the hebew notions of a free trade.
Venom tripped hats masked the monstrous eyes of each
As gold dripped across the deck and sealed them to the flooring
For they had never heard of love

Tedious banquets bombarded by fragile skeletons
Wrapped tightly with a bow and whisked with the sound of change
While luminous masks fell to the floor - each revealing the fate of another
And a scream muffled by wedding bells
For they had never heard of love

Quilted memories jolted the couple awake
Wrinkles winding paths across the scorns awoken by bellowing cries
Generous glances passed on as picture frames remained dusted and forgotten
And unused footie pajamas recoiled, torn by the echoing laughter and sobs
For they had never heard of love

Copper resignated against cold frontiers and I asked again what is love
Trees craking and urging branches reaching out - each with a different answer
"Love is the silence of dawn and the beauty behind each unspoken word."
So I laughed once more
For I had never heard of love.
