God Bless the Stars

Reading and writing,

They become a difficulty.

The public is lacking

Some type of literacy

Misreading the news,

Refusing to listen.

Teens drinking booze,

While trying to glisten.

Focused on perceptions

We've become a degenerate league

Reading bio descriptions,

Please don't talk to me.

We fight unevenly,

No one willing to stand with me.

Because of my color?

Because of my past?

Nothing here ever seems to last.

Unemployment rising,

It isn’t surprising

The people are just trying.

We stand for freedom,

But we will never see,

How we are deficient,

Of what we claim to be.

Corruption of power,

We don’t believe that it's ours,

Not our problem

Not my president.
