Growing up

Dolls and dress-up and tea, oh my!

Those were the days with bright blue skies.

Not a care in the world, not a problem on my mind,

Not even a silly answer I needed to find.

I could run and play and spend my days filled with glee

until one day I woke up and realized I wasn't so free.

My play buddy left me, without even a goodbye.

Mommy said she was now playing in the castle in the sky.

"Oh cool!" I cried, excitement filling the air

"She learned how to fly. Can I join her up there?"

Mommy looked sad but put a smile on anyway,

"Not yet" she replied, "But you will someday"
