Growing up with and without you

9 Months ago you left my life,

I saw the pain coming,

Rushing into my life like a frightful storm.

Some days are better than others,

But Learning new things is not so easy without my teacher.

I grew up so fast taking advantage of the things you provided,

And now as i look back i see the big picture you drew for me,

You painted my horizon bright and clear to lead my way,

You colored in the clouds to give me a starting point.

And now as a senior in high school i cherish your name,

I look to the past to find memories that will always last.

You taught me to swim, to whistle that tune, to drive a truck, and to be a man.

You showed me that life is not just what you see. Its everything else.

But the thing i will always remember the most is that you loved me,

I never imagined a day when i couldn't run to you for help.

You told me as a kid to be tough.. that baby's cry.

But I've found an occasion to cry for joy,

To cry for you,

Because i know your ok,

And i wouldn't have it any other way,

As i lay here i will pray,

Pray that one day i will meet you again,

I wouldn't want it any other way.
