Hand to Heart

Coast to coast,

the sea connects us,

my hand reaching

through the waves,

through the miles,

stretching down

and across,

searching for the

brush of your

fingertips.

The ocean

under my hand

falls from my eyes,

fluttering down

into the sea,

plummeting with me.

A whisper,

an echo,

a memory,

drawing me under.

Over the land,

days away,

you mirror me.

The lyrics between

our two hearts fly

on heavy wings,

worn from the miles.

You are so far

and yet but a thought

away from me.

Though the land

and the years

found us apart,

I will, as I have,

follow you into

life and love.

But for now we

must be appeased

with a blue

connection.
