Hard Life

Daddy is a drugy,

Mommy is under stress.

Daddy up and left,

Mommy stayed and wept.

Little brother on the way.

I hear a train far away.

I find daddy cheating,

I go home screaming.

I tell my mommy where daddy is sleeping.

Then my parents split,

My grades start to slip.

We go to church,

Empty our purse.

Prayed for a miracle,

And lost my voice.

Still I fight.

Still I pray.

In the end I still live my life,

Cause It's my life to live.

It's not written in stone.

If it is I'm knocking it down.

I make my own destiny.
