HEAD HIGH

You say jump, I say how high? Oh me, oh my.
Life is a full of contradictions; can you see my plight?
I want to please you, appease you, but all I can do…
Is hold my head high.

Heard another one lost a promising life, Oh me, oh my.
GPA, SAT score, Merit Awards and Scholarships,
Competition like a rockslide, the pressure was too high.
I want to be the best, for each and every test, but all I can do after….
Is hold my head high.

You say the future is up to me; that I can be anything I want to be.
You think I can conquer infinity; right now it seems an impossibility.
So all I can do is take one day at a time; all I can do is breathe.
Don’t ask me about my dreams; just know that I want to achieve
No matter what that is, just be there for me on this….
With your head held high.
