Heart in a Locket

Location

I Finally understand

Why she was so hard to get

Why she hid within herslef

Telling just enough

But not the whole story

I understand what kind of pain

One has to feel inside

To learn to keep their  Heart in a Locket

And a gun by their side

I finally understand

How sweet the drink tastes

After its numbed your throat

And blood drips onto the floor

She sits and stares through glazed eyes

Now I do the same

And now i see why she

Hid her Heart in a Locket

And kept a drink in her hand

I finally understand

Why she drowned out her life

With the drums and screaming lyrics

That music hits just right

She hears not one word

And now I ignore the world

With the music up so loud

She kept her Heart in a Locket

And her meaningless lyrics in her ear

I finally understand

Why he continued to smoke

Even after the court ruling

The smoke swirling 'round his head

The word "stoner" written by his name

Its smell can leave you fuzzy

But happy none the less

He kept his Heart in a Locket

And the plant in his lungs

I finally understand

Why he'd fall apart every night

Finding another girl to love him

Until morning dawned

That need for belonging

A crave for acceptence

It pushed him to the edge

He let his Heart break in a Locket

And a woman in his bed

It took so long

But i finally understand

Yet its far to late

They're gone

Each one killed by their own hand

And I sit here writing this

Blood, drugs, and alcohol on the floor

Leaving my Heart trapping in a Locket

And my body on the floor
