Heartbeat

To care is to love, and for this we must strive.

Our hearts don’t just beat to keep us alive.

Our hearts beat to be felt.

They beat with a passion that can inspire even the frozen heart to melt.

They beat in time with the love we all want but are afraid to give.

They beat not only to keep us alive. No, they beat to the words “when you love, you will live.”

Our hearts beat to be felt.

They beat to be felt in the ground and the sky.

They beat with a magnitude of 10.0 in hopes that maybe those around will

Feel.

Feel that the ground shakes and the world turns for love alone.

They beat with the force of a category 5 hurricane in hopes that maybe those caught in the storm will see that love is

 Real.

Real enough that its winds can move entire cities and its rain is change.

But change is hard and to level cities we built of selfishness is strange.

Strange because the world says our hearts beat for us.

Our hearts don’t beat for us. They beat to be felt.
