Heathcliff's Prayer

Did you know the devil does not say goodbyes

He just steals your soul and leaves you to die

And you call me the villian

They say I sold my heart to spite and anger

But I lost it long before revenge took control

For love is my heart's tormenter and cager

A prison made of the bones of star crossed lovers

Murdering my concience so it never recovers

Disturbingly content until my jailer left me

Connected by chains stronger than death

I'm thrust out of love and into fury

Hunting her until I reach my final breath

May you haunt me with pain

I pray you to drive me insane

As long as you don't leave me alone

If you ignore my prayer and spell

I'll be a demon on earth

Until we meet again in hell
