His Closure

Location

Clenched me with his shaking hand,

Whispered that he was never letting go,

He broke down in tears, he couldn’t stand,

He wasn’t the same man I knew years ago

He squeezed harder, and held his breath,

And muttered words and fell on his knees,

Pulled out and shot, reciting his death,

As the Gun had, at last, had set him free

I grabbed his head, his eyes glossed over,

I’d never forgotten the sight I saw,

But whereas he had finally found his closure,

I was still stranded in a world without Law.
