Homeless ...

Matthew 25:35-40

35 For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. 36 I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.’

37 “Then these righteous ones will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing? 39 When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?’

40 “And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to Me!’

 Homeless

A show is watched from time to time ... and misery displayed

the homeless marching out of life's rhyme in a massive disarray

Compassion grabs my heart right then ... and moves me to care.

I'm willing then to reach out to them ... and lend a helping share.

It does not take too long ... before the attention of my heart

is pulled away to other shores ... from the needy to depart

from good intentions never filled ... "love your neighbor as yourself"

become just words never lived ... as I provide for my own very well.

So heaven’s treasures are not gained although unlimited in supply

for my compassion span is very faint ... and makes my life "a lie"

To gain in spirit over flesh ... so I can firmly stand

is to be in  Jesus’ rest ... and change the world at hand

The world laughs at my balancing act as my impact seems so small

as I appear as a matter of fact ... not listening to the Spirit's Call.

So from now on can I longer afford ... to rely on what I can see

or should I go  before The Lord ... in hunger for "who" I ought to be?

So it takes fervent prayer ... for me to be assured and free

for my compassion in work ... is only reached by Jesus thro me.

I know about "the Truth and Life” ... and how I ought to be

The Way to follow and live ...  giving self just like "He"
