House of Misery

Hear the Pitter-patter,

Only the pitter-patter

It echoes though my home

This empty house

Here I am alone

Me and only me

In the morning

At noon

And at night

It’s just me

And only me

In this house of misery

Hear the pitter-patter

Only the pitter-patter

But it’s me and only me

In this house of misery

Once full of life

As I once was

As they once were

With me

I feel their presence

Although it’s me and only me

I know they’re here

In this house of misery

Ash and cinder

The reminiscence of our happy home

I the widow

And they the ghosts

Trapped as internal hosts

In this house of misery

Separated by flame

reunited with pain

In love and with love

Silence once more
