How I Died

Location

One

I walk above the earth among the stars

A mysterious man lifts the enormous weight off of my shoulders

He seduces me with sweet whispered words

Could this be love?

Two

Spoken violence splitting me in two

Back-stabbing secrets kept hush-hush

War among those I called friends

Three

Constant screeching in the name of love has become the prevalent sound in my home

Is love only affectionate hate?

Four

Only he listens and comforts

But he wants more

“Display your love so all can see.”

Scars run in straight lines across my legs

Evidence of his cool and loving touch

Five

Blood splatters against my skin as he demands more from me

“Don’t you love me?”

The knife kisses my skin as he cradles my soul in a sweet embrace

Six

He has locked me away

I am trapped and unable to run

Seven

Help me! Help me!

Can no one hear my despair-laced screams?

Eight

Nine

Ten

My heart can no longer produce a rhythm

My life bleeds tears into the floor

Yet as I pass into the next world

My lover Depression seduces his next victim
