Hundred

For every tear cried were a hundred kept inside.

For every word spoken were a hundred silenced or left unsaid.

For every time I was yelled at, the words were left to rot in my mind at least a hundred days later.

for every achievement were a hundred failures that I still carried the burden of.

For every piece of clothing were a hundred more that made me feel insecure.

For every grade were a hundred tests that convinced me I was stupid.

For every time I looked in the mirror were a hundred criticizms that shredded my self-esteem to pieces.

For every hundred times I was condemned for being me was one voice that kept telling me to

Move forward

And that was all I needed

Because even though I was never good enough for you.

I just had to be strong enough to carry on.
