Hunger
Location
In today’s crazy world of
Free-stylin’ and hanglidin’
Living life on the edge
Not giving a FUCK
About the long line of people
Waiting…
Looking for their next big break,
Hungry for the chance of just
A TASTE of the nutritious
Care free lifestyle
Enviously watching others
Leap…
Down the mountain of opportunity.
While I sit at the back of the line
And I write about the beauty
Yet disgust I have for this frivolous
Task at hand. As I watch
Cheaters…
Or “chance takers”
As they call themselves
SPRINT to the front
Taking their leap with the lack of
Humbleness, and concern for the virtue
Patience…
Most fall, yet others make it
With smiles as white as baking soda
Never looking back
At the long line of good people
Waiting for their chance to jump
Envious…
Of the chance taker
Wondering why not them
Wondering what it will take
For them to also grow the balls to jump
The balls it takes to be successful
“Cheaters never win” yet,
Chance takers seem to prevail
So should I sit
At the back of this line and WAIT
For something, anything,
To smack me in the face
Or should I take that chance
And jump
Relentlessly waving my arms
Trying to fly
Eyes lustrous from the tears
That reflect on my thoughts of what if
Praying the world shows me favor
Like the few others before me
In today’s crazy world of
Free-stylin’ and hanglidin’
