I Believe in Me

Everybody says

“You Won’t Make It Big,”

but I’m telling you

Right now

I will.

They hate and try to stand in

My way, but that’s not what

I care about,

Not Now… even still.

They tell me I am

Wrong. Am I really?

Or are they the

Wrong Ones

because they refuse

to Believe in me?

Tell me again why their

Opinions should matter.

Society is a Human creation.

I don’t need

Other People to say “no”.

I can take their “laughter”.

I believe in what I can do.

I see the person I can be, whether or not

They do Too.

So am I wrong to say that

“I Believe in myself”?

Or shall I just become another one of

Society’s Puppets,

movements controlled by floss

and wood when I’m not sitting

Alone

on that

Societal Shelf.
