I Can See

In a world that I can see

No, not quite that far away from me

I see a better place for humanity

And this place started with common courtesy.

There are no wars;

We all work towards sustainability

So that the world that our children see

Will be green instead of burgundy.

This world is called a surmised place

One that can never be

But in life you only witness

What your mind will allow you to see.

The powerful do not want you to know

How strong humanity can be

Because they make their living off of fear and injustice

And that is the stark, cold reality.

Let’s all leave today’s world behind,

It seems murky and polluted to me

After all, what’s the point of freedom

In a place that won’t see the next century.
