I Can't Tell My Teacher

I can’t tell you how much Emily laughs at me,
It will only make things worse
Because she laughs at me and
Only me.
If I tell you that John calls me ugly
It will only make things worse
Because he says that to me and
Only me.

It is hard to strive to be great
When everyone makes my fun of me
Due to the fact that I’m on the only one who
Does not turn my homework in late.

Im scared to tell you teacher because of
The backlash and ridicule that would result
Especially when the kids that harass,
Shame, and embarrass me
Are the one that you love and would
Argue me down and say
That they are not guilty of
Such things.

If I may say teacher,
You are the reason I have become
A depressed teen.
I may not have a pretty face or a magazine cover body
But you are my teacher.

You are the one who chose to protect me
Chose not to have favorites
And chose to stick up for me
When I was scared to stick up for my self
Yet, you let me down teacher.

You choose to ignore what Emily and John says
Because they are faculty favorites and members of
Every club ever thought of
You don’t have favorites remember?

No, I cannot say this to you and I never will
You are an adult
That has apparently forgot
how a child like me feels.

I can’t tell you how much Emily laughs at me,

It will only make things worse

Because she laughs at me and

Only me.

If I tell you that John calls me ugly
