"I had a dream"
Words once spoken from a King
Encouraging his people to life their voice and sing
To let their tears from years of oppression form a hopeful scream
We once hung as strange fruit
But new seeds of freedom have taken root
From black slaves in clothes to men in black suits
Our fight for civil rights was en route
X said get it by any means necessary
even if it means we have to shoot
Rosa Parks taught us how to take a seat
And no matter what, never give in to defeat
And let's now forget about Emmett Till
The catalyst to the movement
The spark to fire the real need of improvement
Once times to being "Black" was a curse
I am blessed to say that I'm"Black"
And to say the king's dream was complete
