I Will Remember

When moments are made

When memories fade

I will remember

If to forgive is to forget

With a flame I light a cigarette

I will remember

The pain is so deep

Every mountain so steep

The struggle so real

Makes me not want to feel

Fear flowing through my blood

Like a storm raising a flood

I will remember

Your voice is still inside my head

Repeating everything you said

I will remember

The truth be told but not from you

I didn't know my way through

A muddy path leads nowhere

Every night another nightmare

A stairway to heaven

Not one single question

I will remember

Now and then a new wound appears

Too many to count all these years

A light shines above

So pure only given from a dove

The mistakes you made

They will never fade

I will remember

When moments are made

When memories fade

I will remember
