I'm Me

I’m a girl

I’m a teenager

I’m a blackbelt

I’m in band

I don’t go to church

I’m a girl

Yes, I love pink

Yes, I like shopping

And I like talking to my friends

But…

I’d rather wear orange boots over heels

I do understand sports

And believe it or not

I can find my way out of a cave

I’m a teenager

That doesn't mean I’m lazy

Or rebellious

Or that I spend Friday nights partying

I’m actually quite active

I follow rules

And spend Friday nights watching Grimm in my PJ’s

I’m a blackbelt

In what? In Taekwondo

Am I good?

                I Don’t think I’m bad

Can I kick you in the head?

                Probably.

Could I beat you up?

                Why would you ask that?

I’m not going to prove myself to you.

I’m not scary.

I’m not going to punch you in the face if I’m angry.

I’m just a normal person.

I’m in band

I play three instruments

No, I don’t listen to classical music

Just because I’m in band doesn't mean I’m a nerd

Or a dork

Or a geek

It means that I like music

That I like to play music

I don’t go to church

That doesn’t mean I’m a bad person

Or that I don’t have faith

I believe in being nice

And helping others

And being grateful for what you have

Just because I don’t go to church doesn’t mean I’m ignorant

It means I’m just different than you

I’m a girl

I’m a teenager

I’m a blackbelt

I’m in band

I don’t go to church

I’m me.
