I'm So Sorry

I heard today

that you lost someone

who meant

the world to you.

That you sat by his side

watched as his eyes

watered and his nose bleed;

you held his hand

'til the end.

All the while I passed you by,

your cheery eyes disguised

the horror and hollow, hollow pain.

The loss.

I'm so sorry:

I know that nothing will ever

be the same again.
