Indifference

Matthew 15:6

In this way, you say they don’t need to honor their parents.

And so you cancel the word of God for the sake of your own tradition.

Brain-dead as in insensitivity and indifference

This phrase has implications and is easy to explain

Unless we understand that it’s more than a physical function

One can be dead in brain as such and still do all the good

And in that become a part ... of what we call tradition

Submission to that we know so well and is oft misunderstood

Knowledge that is stored in the brain’s vast comprehension

Is without sensitivity well embalmed and dead

Ready to be raised in its own pretension

That happens all the time through words and deeds … so sad

Conscience serves as a monitor ... it informs us what is wrong

It shows us simply where in deed we really need repair

If we develop habits of ways in deed to ignore it

It won’t be long for sure, that our conscience won't be there
