An Innocent Soul

When I look at the rectangular mirror,

I see my reflection bouncing back at me.

Who is this person in the mirror?

The long, black hair and dark brown eyes

This is how others see me

No one will ever know the real me

If only someone ever looked deep within my eyes,

And my heart,

All they will find is an innocent soul.

A girl who cares about the smiles on people’s faces

A girl who secretly treasures her memories,

And keeps them hidden at the bottom of her heart.

Others see me smile and laugh

However, no one but myself

Knows the grief inside of me

The girl who wants to scream, snivel and sob

And let this bitter world know that

Nobody has the right to judge others.

Each individual is unique and special in their own way.
