It’s Not Your Fault

I know you think he broke you from the bruises on your skin,

I know you think his sin is yours from the pain you feel within.

I know you think it’s your fault because you never told a soul.

I know your family hates you from the way you’ve lost control.

But it’s not your fault,

That he’s sick in the brain,

And thought taking from you would cure his pain.

It’s not your fault that you woke up to him,

touching you in places that make your eyes dim.

It’s not your fault he stole and popped the one thing you held dear.

It’s not your fault the word innocent is something you feel your nowhere near.

But baby girl don’t cry no more. I know he caused you pain.

I know it hurt, when he broke in, and wrecked havoc on every inch of your skin.

But baby girl don’t cry no more, from the things he made you do.

Don’t cry no more when you look in the mirror because you aren’t what was done to you.

You are everything that you make,

of the stuff that happened and you can’t control.

You are the strength you use to get through what he did.

Oh baby girl don’t cry no more, because it’s not your fault.

Please baby girl don’t cry no more, I know it’s not your fault.

Baby girl don’t cry no more, I need you to know,

That it never was your fault.
