it was all a dream
it wasn't a fantasy of playing ball with the dream team
i heard my father echoing my nickname
bobby, bobby, bobby
voice i remember when i was a kid
always wanted to know what i did
hope it didn't leave to a bid
i didn't remember the rest of the dream
i did recall my body tossing
my body moving
my body quenching
my body struggling to wake up
it felt too overwhelming
when i finally awaken
i wasn't shaken
i felt sluggish
easy for me to react in a way that was thuggish
thinking about it more when i worked out in the gym
i knew it was time to rise above the rim
i did call him, left him a message
now i'm waiting for his call so we can talk
he call and we finally spoke
