It's Called Social Work for a Reason

I want to work for the world

For the children who were not given a fair chance

For they will be the ones to make the world a better place

Pain and suffering was taught to them early

But they teach themselves how to survive

Due to this, resiliency and strength are in their nature

A little compassion and help will enable them to thrive

Children do not hurt or hate, to them this is taught

But hopefully a social worker can help this atrocity be undone

Children deserve love and they deserve to feel warmth

Not just physically, but from the depths of their souls

There is no greater tragedy than a child's soul turned cold

Abuse and neglect from those they should be able to trust

Can burden the child's soul with a very heavy toll

But maybe I can lend an ear and also lessen the burden

Helping to heal a child would be the dream job

I'm sure of it.
