Looking Forward, Going Nowhere

Stepping foot into the college life

The constant reminder that yours is on the line

Just a year ago familiarity was home

Today you stand in the midst of competition

For everything you do is the opening or closing of a door

The pressure and stress an abundance to ignore

Long nights of the past somehow just got longer

Procrastination no longer an available outlet

You feel as if the clock has suddenly turned back

The high and mighty status no longer exists

Yet again you are seen as a kid

The friends of the past still faintly remain

An occasional call is the best you can get

You used to see these guys all the time and think nothing of it

Now the "real word" came in and decided to stir things up

Adapting is neccessary for success

Or so you've been told by the experts of life

This uncomfortable stage is only just a phase

Don't sweat it kid, it'll pass in a few days
