The Laws of Nature

“To break the laws of nature” – What an idea!

For nature is not a suggestion, but a law

We obey.

If longing is not nature,

Then dreams are but fantasies

And the throbbing in our chest

We feel,

Feels no pain.

Then the warmth I feel

Are but ghosts upon my lips.

My very existence, threatened,

By wandering eyes.

For where my eyes wander

“Break” the laws of nature,

That of which cannot be broken.

It is the Law that governs

The direction which

The sky folk fly,

And the way we dance in our

Corner of the universe.

But I break the Law,

I am told.

I do not exist.

And so, to the Law, I give

My dying kiss.
