Lemonade

My lips are sugar, but my tongue is sour

So I guess my words are lemonade.

My heart is a flame but my body's a flower;

I'm on fire, but that's how I'm made.

Why do they think I'm a bubbly glass of champagne

When I'm just the empty bottle?

Why do they think I have so much to gain

When my future is being throttled?

But I can be iced tea if you need to cool down,

I can be hot chocolate if you need to be warm.

I'll do anything for you to stick around

And together we'll get through this storm

Because you're the antidote to my poisoned apple;

You're the tree that gives me shade.

You're the stained glass window to my chapel

And the lemon to my lemonade.
