Life Changes Through Many Experiences

Fri, 03/29/2019 - 05:08 -- simons

As I grew up and realized who I was, I learned a lot about myself. Or I should say I continue to learn about myself each and every day. From the age of about  16, I truly started to realize the change that was occurring in my life. Little things would have an impact, and I would take notice with each and every situation to learn and to become a better version of myself. People started to have more of an impact, the school became a focus of mine, and my goals for my career had started to come into focus, the more I put work in each and every day. Devoting your time and effort during an 11-month relationship, and then having it become nothing, not even a friendship, changed my mindset in a lot of ways and helped me grow tremendously to the person I have become today. I began to realize my true ambitions of what I wanted to do, as well as my social interactions with people and how I was affected every day. This relationship made me realize the importance of communication, caring, effort, aspirations, people with different stories, and the overall image of people changing and becoming new people. After this relationship, I began to realize what I wanted to do with my career, as well as the impact I wanted to have on the world. People will leave, people will change, people will learn, and people will break your heart. Everyone deals with situations differently that has had an impact of some sort on them. As a kid, I didn't have the biggest aspirations to attend a 4-year university. As a kid, I did not have any idea of what I wanted to do.  However, I found myself being there for people and wanting to help people every day. Whether someone was having the worst day of their lives, needed a shoulder to cry on, or just wanted to talk to someone, I wanted to be there for them. After my relationship, and learning more about school and how it could help me with my career, I started to become more interested in the field of mental health, because I learned how many people were untreated. I have always wanted fairness for all people, and that is where this became more important in my life and my career choice. Realizing that people need help, and realizing that I could help them, was one of the biggest growth moments I have gone through in my life. Learning about the world has also helped me realize who I want to be. I grew up in one place, but just by watching movies and reading about other cultures has inspired me to venture out and learn on a first-hand experience about the world I live in. Everything I learn every day helps me with my career as well as self-being.
