Life Now A Days

Hands shake

Tears shed

Heartbeats race

They say do not worry you’re safe

But we know safe is loosely thrown around these days

Guns meant for war used on our peers

Streets once filled with children riding their bikes

Now filled with fear of even walking around the block

They say it’ll never happen, it’s so rare

If the word rare means happening nearly everyday

The yes I guess it is quite rare

Parents use to send their children off with happiness

Now they fear that one day they won’t come back

This is what we call life now

No longer enjoying the journey

But scared of what’s around the next turn
