Life in a Year

Life goes on,

Friends I’ve lost,

And things that have changed.

To a fro,

At the cusp of reality,

People jump and people leap.

In a brave new world,

I change my views,

I realize the pains.

Of growing up in a world so cold,

People near and dear,

Loosen their hold.

I go to crystalize,

Others do not,

Becoming a butterfly and join those who have found their way.

Things happen for a reason,

And our straining friendships

Lose their say.

Goodbye to the old and welcome the new,

People change, and so do you.
