Light-Up My Life: Mom and Dad

Mom must be a god-like figure, sturdy wit and full of vigor.

While dad must be the voice of reason, through those lovely years of treason

Both must stand strong and tall, with 2 kids, ‘twas already a brawl

One might say they're a bit off-kilter,

when their façades shift and begin to wilt…

(Mother) her humor bounces off the walls, sometimes more than all of ours

Though her nerve is strong and heart is pure,

mind is sharp and you can be sure

she's quite the match for our dad,

the man who's seen the world and come back again

Whose love is strong and heart is gold, soul is young, spirit never grows old

The two together strong smart and brave,

have seen it all, and through and through

Have shown the world what we all should do;

We must whether on, and love one another as Barry and Sharon have

Using morals, wit and ever so pious…

Then again…

I might be just a bit bias.
