Little Monster

A week’s worth of laundry piled high

Taller than a horse, it makes me want to cry.

I think I lost my cell phone

Somewhere within that danger zone.

Oh Lord, did it just shake?

I hope not, just for my sake

Wait a second, was that an eye?

Oh I think I’m tongue-tied!

Fear makes me quiver right in my soles

For a second, I think it is an ugly troll…

But then I see a little pink nose,

And fur that’s white as snow.

I laugh out loud quite happily

To realize it’s my cat Natalie.
