Loving

"You aren't my mother."

Such a foolish thing to say.

But as a child,

How could I know better?

Tears formed in your eyes

And your cheeks became red.

You were hurt, in pain.

How could your daughter say that to you?

Looking back now,

The most important lesson of life

Is that blood does not matter,

Only the love of a family.

Adoption does not stop the

Love parents feel,

It strengthens it:

A bond that can never be broken.

This poem is about:
Me
My family
