Madness of Education and School
School.
What a frustrating
and confusing time,
especially high school.
But is it really the school or the education?
You or the teachers?
We all see our friends
each day except the weekends.
It's how we meet them,
they can become our BFF's
or just high school friends.
The environment of school seems well.
But we seperate each other into groups.
the Jocks,
the Athletes,
the Band Geeks,
the Nerds,
the Drama Geeks,
the Punks,
the Preps.
Those are only seven out of so many.
We are seperated into them,
when we step foot into school on our first day.
Teachers expect us
to remember a unit
that they barely went over,
and won't go back over,
in a time period of two weeks
or even less!
They go from one slide to the next.
Expecting us to read it and paraphase it
and write it down,
while they are talking.
Then moving on without seeing if we understand.
Then they hand us something
that is foreign and expect us to know what it is.
They give us excuses like;
you did this last year or in third grade.
But all I want to say
is that I don't remember!
My brain is overflowing with all this information
that is useless, in ways!!
No one wants to say it to the teacher,
so we ask each other and we don't know,
so we give up or make something up.
There is always that one kid,
who gets it and seems why too smart for the class.
The teacher only pays attention to them
and assumes we all understand.
And when we ask the class genius for help
he or she ignores us,
or say figure it out yourself.
The education seems,
lacking and dull now a days.
It may be up to date with technology,
but not with the generation of students
it is teaching.
The teachers spend to much time
teaching us the useless information
that is either no help for us in the real world
or is pointless and has no meaning.
So many times in one day
I want to scream that,
I don't get it!
Speak English!
Dumb it down!
I want to give up!
Or I just simply want to bang my head on the desk,
repeatedly till the information is condensed in my brain,
and no longer overflowing with gibberish.
School is well and fun,
when meeting people and doing activities,
but it is the education that makes school
so frustrating, confussing, and stressful.
