Me

Location

I sit alone in a dim lit room,

With a candle and thoughts in my head,

I can change but one thing in the world,

To resurrect the dead?

I could change one thousand things,

So here I list them off,

I will go now one-by-one,

Try not to wander off.

The little kids with weaponry,

The violence in Ukraine,

The careless parents of today,

The endless searing pain.

The holocaust and Vietnam,

The will to give and please,

All the men that lost their lives,

Including the enemies.

I could make it snow in desert lands,

I'd help the starving wives,

I'd get people to understand,

I'd let them see the lies.

The power given to me today,

I could change the world,

I'd send a mission into space,

Or find those missing girls.

I'd stop the wars that rage along,

The flames and battle scars,

Perhaps I'd make an alternative fuel,

No more blood to run our cars.

Shed light upon corruption,

For every sovereign state,

No more heated argument,

Just civilized debate.

And here I sit and think and list,

My brain rambling away,

I notice that the world is scarred,

Not white or black, but grey.

I can list these problems,

Not you, you live with glee,

But my heart dies for these issues,

So I guess I'll just change me.
