Mi Mango Tree

Mi amazing mango tree

tropical of me back yard

exposure to temperatures just right

cultivated all around the tropical island.

this delicious fruit stole me

I knew it from small to quite large

cultivation was generally pruned

kept smaller for my manageable harvest

this tree in full flower is beautiful

all I want is for it to receive sunlight

red blush at the stem end

the maturity, quality of ripeness.

four months to mature to tree

the wait, me ready fi harvest

bow under the weight of the developing

harvested by hand, might provide jobs

local workers, a safe passage

to the packinghouse, as my mind goes wild.

carbon sequestration or carbon uptake

carbon dioxide, from the country side

trunk, branches, leaves and fruits

This tree even produces oxygen

during growing’s.

I get so excited about my backyard tree

I think of the process of growing

harvesting and transporting mangos

what if I could sell to the market in town

sounds exciting and perhaps surprising

this tree produces delicious fruit

spark the interest of the high school kids

Gave my home phone to the girl next door

The action, was worth it

Now I have this mango tree.

So many mangos, four months seem far away

The expectation, anticipation

Girl next door watching

I see my first mango of ripen

I go for feel, wipe was the feel

After four months, girl next see

I invite, and she came, should I share?

She really like, now I watch for rest

Now I have girlfriend, this tree

It’s really an amazing mango tree.

People from near and far friend me

They like mango, I sell for small fee

Everyone loves the taste, wow they said

I smile as she kisses, looking back at

Mi amazing mango tree.

The End
