Mind-set

Mind-set Romans 8: 5-6 “for those who live according to the flesh

set their mind on things of the flesh, but those who live according

to the spirit on things of the Spirit. To be carnally minded is

death, to be spiritually minded is life and peace”.

Man’s head is able to mind

the spirit as well as the flesh.

It is in habits that it forms

who it will listen too.

Is our mind the dividing line

between spirit and the body

and our mental faculty

the scale that looks for proof.

If one has the mindset on the spirit

than the spirit may rule the mind.

Now if we just could trade our mind

and put on the mind of Christ.

How could that be accomplished?

How can that be done?

I can go out of my mind, I know,

but to shed it seems kind of feisty.

To learn to think like Jesus thinks

and to decide like He wills.

To have our eyes on God the Father

and always do what He likes.

To walk after the Spirit

means we have to keep our minds

but have to shed the flesh completely

and it’s influence and the likes.

Whatever the mind sets, it follows,

if on the flesh death will result.

Life and peace if it is on the Spirit

for the mind has a choice in it.

It really should be like a watchman

always searching the inner-man

so that the outer is yielded  wholly

and the inner will be at peace with it.

When the inner-man gets exercised

to cooperate with the Holy Spirit,

than the outer-man may be healed enough

to follow the movement of his spirit.

Even the silence he would understand

and then peace would surely follow.

I know that flesh still would be flesh,

but then God would control it.
