Minus hope

Jeremiah 45:3

‘You have said, “I feel so hopeless! For the Lord has added sorrow to my suffering.

I am worn out from groaning. I can’t find any rest.”’”

Minus hope

How did I get to where I’m at ... what happened to my conscience?

What happened to vitality and the ringing of the bells?

Where does the race point now that once I was running?

With all I had to give before I stumbled and fell?

Where did I depart too ... how did I get off the track?

Now in the middle of a crowd seeing self crumble

Once I was in unison ... now divided in the pack

Someone else’s trophy in hand acting like I’m humble

Brought back to reality through simple conversation

Human nature at its worst proclaiming all the answers

Maybe after all ... my soul goes to the highest bidder

As fear and uncertainty grow as a form of cancer
